Lloyd Spencer
about

When I was young, I would walk the fence line of my grandparents’ tree farm in Marlborough, Connecticut very early in the morning with my Grandpa Isleib ... listening and observing everything around me.

My grandfather taught me the patience needed to observe nature as unobtrusively as possible, and he would pause to show me the hidden things in nature –birds in a nest, rabbit tracks leading to their warren, or birds foraging for their morning meal.

Over the past year I have turned my attention toward the impact of waste plastics on our natural surroundings ... and our lives ... as more than 80% of our waste plastic is not recycled and ends up in waterways, oceans and landfills.

Through my work with photographing nature, I will try to bring attention to the beauty of nature as it is, and to the positive things that we can do to reverse the harmful impact of waste plastics on our natural surroundings.
